Popular UK theme park Alton Towers has announced its plans for Halloween 2021 with a new family attraction and four award-winning mazes.
The Liverpool Echo reports that the return of Scarefest will see the unveiling of Trick O’ Treat Town, where families need to be brave enough to knock on doors from Spooky Avenue to Witchy Woods.
Trick O’ Treat Town opens alongside the theme park's four popular scare mazes: Freak Show: Toxic Junkyard, The Attic: Terror of the Towers, Darkest Depths and Altonville Mine Tours: Uncover The Legend of the Skin Snatchers.
Freak Show: Toxic Junkyard is set outside in what appears to be an abandoned junkyard, where visitors will discover the dark and disturbing secret it hides.
The Attic: Terror of the Towers is set in the eaves of the theme park’s famous and historical Tower ruins, haunted by ‘the Governess’, who local legend says is eternally trying to avenge the death of her charges.
Darkest Depths takes visitors on an adventure aboard ‘The Mutiny’, a notoriously spine-chilling ghost ship, complete with avoiding the hazardous calls of the Sirens, dodging the swords of ghoulish pirate mutineers and coming face to face with the legendary Kraken.
Altonville Mine Tours: Uncover The Legend of the Skin Snatchers allows visitors to head to a recently reopened mine at the resort, which holds a deep, dark secret.
Open until 9 pm each day, daring guests can also face rides and attractions in darkness - including the Alton Towers Dungeon.
Scarefest will take place at Alton Towers Resort from Friday 8 October to Sunday 10 October, then each day from October 15 - 31.
