Theme park enthusiasts will be pleased to hear the UK is a great place to live if you love rollercoaster rides, as it is home to four of the world’s top amusement or water parks.
Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards has revealed the top 25 theme parks around the globe, naming Siam Park in Adeje, Spain, as the best.
It described the venue as “an adrenaline-pumping, fun-filled day for all the family, from chilling on sunbeds next to the beach to the Tower of Power (not for the fainthearted)!”.
Perhaps surprisingly, the top-rated theme park from the UK was the Milky Way Adventure Park in Clovelly, which came in at number five.
The Devon-based theme park has countless attractions that are great for both adults and kids, including Ziggy’s Blast Quest, which was opened in 2019. It also has a bird of prey display, soft play centre and plenty of slides!
Alton Towers was rated thirteenth in the world, followed by Blackpool Pleasure Beach in fourteenth place. Lastly, Drayton Manor Theme Park in Tamworth was named seventeenth best theme park, ahead of Disney World Florida’s Magic Kingdom (21) and California’s Universal Studios (23).
The ratings were based on public reviews from the last year, showing that some of the most popular destinations are not necessarily the most famous.
One theme park that could be in the top 25 next year is The Crealy Theme Park & Resort in Devon, as it has opened a brand-new attraction called Sooty Land, based on the loveable yellow puppet and his friends.
